PRI Show Photos: Here’s Our Last Blast Of Photos From The 2021 PRI Show In Indy!

This is it, our last gallery of photos from the PRI Show!

We’ve got a lot of galleries from the show, so check them all out. And if you are just getting started with our coverage, don’t worry there is a link below to see everything we’ve posted so far, and we’ll have a new gallery up each day this week as well. I swear PRI felt bigger than ever to me after being gone last year, but it’s back and so are the racers, builders, crew chiefs and owners. It was a riot and we can’t wait for next year!

It’s December in Indy, and that means that while the rest of the country is trying to shop, decorate, and plan for the holidays, every racer, crew chief, car owner, and cool dude in the country is here checking out all the racing and performance goodness the aftermarket has to offer. This is the baddest trade show on the planet and we love it. It’s got the best of the best and everything here is racing-related. There are no chrome accessories, no show car parts, and nothing that doesn’t help make power or put it to the ground. All the racers, crew chiefs, and teams are here checking out everything new and preparing for the new season and car builders are here selling new cars for 2022 as well. If you want the check out the latest and greatest and are looking for the best new parts for your engine, chassis, drivetrain, or race operation, this is the place to be.

Coming to this show means you’ll see race cars from every kind of motorsport, plus tractor pull tractors, trucks, haulers, and more. This is one of those places where you are drooling over parts everywhere you turn and that is awesome. I love this show and can tell you that if you are a racer then this is the trade show specifically for you without a bunch of stuff you don’t care about.

Here are our first batch of photos, and I’ll be shooting more all day today so you can check them out too.

FE Race And Reunion Photos: Muscle Cars, Trucks, Gassers, And More From Beaver Springs

Joe Grippo does a fine job finding all the cool events to visit and shoot photos at. Of course for anyone that likes engines, the unique and cool Ford FE is one that deserves some cool attention. Thankfully this cool event at Beaver Springs Dragway celebrates all that is FE so check out Joe’s write-up and photos below.

(Words and Photos by Joe Grippo) The FE Ford engine has been obviously out of production for, what, 40 plus years? Yet there is a group the hardest of hardcore devotees who once a year gather in the hills of Central Pennsylvania at a quaint little dragstrip, to celebrate all variants of this famed FoMoCo mill. From 352’s to 390’s to the mighty Cobra Jets and Cammers, plus all the other displacements were in the house, at Beaver Springs Dragway.

The FE’s were smoking the rear tires and yanking the fronts skyward for like 3 days straight! Big mid-century 60’s muscle, Fairlane’s, Mustangs and trucks filled the pits and the show field right alongside a bunch of late model Fords with the venerable big block transplanted into them. It’s truly Nirvana for Ford fanatics, it is a sight to behold. A few Ford legends who made their bones with the FE Ford were in the house and holding court. Ohio George Montgomery, Al Joniec and John Vermeersch among others were telling stories and answering questions non-stop. The swap meet was robust with blocks, heads, intakes, cranks and everything else FE related just waiting to get scarfed up for the next build.

If you even remotely dig Fords and if you own an FE, you owe it to yourself to be on the Beaver property in 2022 for the 10th (TENTH!) annual FE Race and Reunion. You will not regret it, but don’t take our word for it, check out the galleries and see for yourself.

Motion Raceworks Rocky Mountain Race Week Daily Coverage: Day One Action From Thunder Valley

Rocky Mountain Race Week is in the books, and we were traveling the route with all these folks so we could bring you the FREE livestream that we had going all week long. It was a week full of fun, adventures, carnage, and more, but even if you were there you wouldn’t have been able to see it all. There is that much going on! But thanks to the folks at Motion Raceworks we’ve got more cool video coverage from the entire week and we’re going to share it all with you one day at a time. They were on-site with their parts merch trailer and were helping people out with great stuff all week long. This is the first video from Day One at Thunder Valley in Noble Oklahoma, which means everyone is racing and there is no on road carnage or anything yet. This is the day where everyone thinks everything is great and that they can win this whole thing. Spirits are high. At least until the racing gets going.

Why? Because some of these poor folks are going to tear their stuff up before they ever get to leave the first track. The good news is that they have all night to work on them because we don’t leave for the next track until the next morning, and the drive isn’t horrible from Thunder Valley to the Texas Motorplex in Ennis. Plus, there is the World’s Largest Summit Racing Equipment store on the way and it’s full of great parts to fix most anything.

Between Summit and the Motion Raceworks trailer full of parts, there was no shortage of new stuff going on hot rods Sunday night.

Here is the video description:

Here’s Our BANGshift Pick Spirit Award Winner From C10 Nationals: He Won A Free Entry To C10’s In The Park!

(Words and Photos by Charles Wickam) With half of BANGshift officially in Texas now, and attending more events, I personally wanted to give the presence a little boost in the public’s eyes. I had purchased two entries to C10s in the Park but realizing my C10 wont be done in time I decided to pass my entry on to an individual who exemplifies the BANGshift spirit. The truck of my choosing would be a truck that myself, Chad or Brian would want in the driveway, a truck you could hop into and go to the corner store for milk or go to the local dragstrip and make some quarter mile passes. It wasn’t necessarily going to be the best looking, fastest, or the coolest, but it checks all the boxes in what we all like.

Roy Jones from Colorado has that truck. His 1970 C10 was bought brand new by his dad, who used it daily until Roy was old enough to drive, and then Roy drove it all through high school and started to make it his own. Roy kept the original paint, and has had pinstriping added all over it, then clear coated it to seal in all that goodness. It has been lowered on 30 spoke wire wheels that have been painted beige to match the pinstriping, and the color combo works perfectly together. Under the hood there’s a stout 427 big block Chevy engine mated to a 4 speed for BANGshifting gears when he gets the urge to lay into it.

Roy was asking me about the show C10s in the Park when I met him here at the C10 Nationals, and said he wished he could go but the entry was cut off at 500 trucks. Getting an entry for C10s in the Park is like trying to get front row seats for the big music concert, not an easy task. So with me holding two entries, one each for Chad and myself, I wanted to pass mine on to Roy. I asked him if he would stay for awards, and with that my plan was set into motion. I spoke with Chris who is one of the co-promoters of the show and asked if I could give away the show entry and he was all for it.

At the beginning of the awards I was called to the stage to give the audience a short description of what BANGshift is about and about giving out the award. With that I called Roy to the stage and he gave a description of his truck along with a brief history on it. Roy was blown away and beyond excited about the award and we look forward to hanging out with him and his wife at C10s in the Park this coming September 18th. If you’re into C10 trucks, this is one of the best one day truck shows you could attend. Now here’s where it gets fun. (don’t tell Brian or Chad this) But I will be giving away a entry to the C10 Nationals to a truck that again exemplifies the BANGShift spirit, so those of you who are there showing at C10s in the Park, you could be going home with a paid show entry for the 2022 C10 Nationals!

Check out the photos of Roy’s cool C10 below, and if you missed our photo gallery from the event, click on the link below.

Here’s Every Bonneville Speed Week Photo Gallery We’ve Got From 2020! Check Them All Out Here!

Bonneville Speed Week 2020 is in the books, with George Poteet and the Speed Demon team once again taking home the Hot Rod Trophy, which is impressive as hell considering the challenging conditions at Bonneville National Speedway this year. With this year’s strange climate of COVID and everything else, the number of cars and fans at Speed Week was definitely down, but that might have been a blessing for some as the number of cars going down the race track each day meant it probably stayed in better shape than it would have otherwise. And even though Speed Demon is full of the latest and greatest technology, including very effective traction control, you can’t go down a marginal track as fast as a good one. Period. Traction control doesn’t make you fast, it just helps refine the power a little in the tougher spots.

Don’t for a second think that all our coverage was of Speed Demon though, we’ve got jillions of photos of hot rods, customs, race cars, and more on the salt, and it doesn’t matter what you like you are going to find it in one of these cool photo galleries.

FREE LIVE STREAMING Drag Racing: The Xtreme Texas Nationals Featuring The Mid-West Drag Racing Series

Saturday: Racing scheduled for 6 P.M. Central!

No, your eyes didn’t deceive you, the name is accurate: the Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Drag Racing Series, the former Mid-West Pro Mod Series, is throwing down big-time at Xtreme Raceway Park in Ferris, Texas and BangShift.com will be bringing you the action LIVE starting Friday afternoon! So, what’s with the name change? Well, it’s because more than just Pro Mods will be taking part! In addition to the howlers we’ve been showing you since day one, there is now a $20,000 to win Funny Car class that will battle it out for a hell of a pot. How many will be contesting for the cash? Hopefully more than a few…if there are more than 13 cars in the field, there’s money in the semi-finals and the quarters! X275 will also be on the grounds, running the event as a 2020 points race. Dragsters, Top Sportsman, Outlaw Big Tire (no time) and Junior Dragsers will be running as well.

BangShiftChad will be our man on the ground for the event, so tune in starting Friday evening for the noise from the south. Keith Haney and the crew are back in business, and business is GOOD!
